In the world of animation, traditional scripts are not often used. Since animation is a visual medium, storyboards depicting the on screen action are prepared. Often works of art themselves, the artist creating them must be highly skilled and disciplined.
Don DaGradi, the 25th Disney Legend inducted into the company's hall of fame, was both highly skilled, disciplined and so much more. Mr. DaGradi's storyboards were legendary, providing the Disney artists with the frameworks they needed to make movie magic. Mr. DaGradi worked on various classics including Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland and Sleeping Beauty.
It was his work on Mary Poppins that really cemented his legendary status. Working with The Sherman Brothers, PL Travers and Mr. Disney, he carefully plotted out the film and music to make an experience that was practically perfect.
