In 1968, Walt Disney Productions released The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band which uses the backdrop of the 1888 presidential election to depict an unusual family band. The 1888 election was notable for being the first time that the winning president won the majority of electoral votes but was not favored by the majority of American voters, an unusual circumstance that would not be repeated until 2000 and 2016.
