DISNEYLAND Vacationland Magazine

DISNEYLAND has promoted itself in many ways throughout the years. In the beginning, it published a quarterly magazine that not only featured DISNEYLAND, but also served as a guide to Southern California. The magazine was placed for free in various Anaheim hotel/motel rooms and provided to members of Disney's Magic Kingdom Club.

The magazine had tips for visiting DISNEYLAND and featured advertisements from various Disney enterprises.

The magazine featured all of Southern California's attractions who often advertised in the magazine. Since 1955, DISNEYLAND has been the first stop for most tourists. Outside attractions sought to become the second or third stop for tourists.

In the 1970's, Disney published a second version of the magazine featuring Walt Disney World. It similarly promoted the Disney attractions in Florida.

In the 1980's, the two magazines were combined as The Disney News and featured both DISNEYLAND and Walt Disney World. The magazine was eventually discontinued as the company chose other venues for advertising the parks.
