As DISNEYLAND entered the 1980's, it was ready to celebrate its 25th Anniversary in high gear. The Space Mountain of Walt Disney's dreams was still packing in crowds as one of the park's newest adventures and DISNEYLAND was beginning a project to remodel Fantasyland to match Mr. Disney's original plans from 1953.
The park celebrated in traditional form by mounting a lavish parade and a year long party that attracted some of DISNEYLAND's famous friends.
Even Michael Jackson joined the party, performing in the park's television special.
Its founder may have passed away 14 years earlier, but the park was as vibrant as ever, living up to Walt Disney's dreams and expectations. 25 years after its opening, Mr. Disney's dream was alive and well.
